Today's Tarot Card: King of Wands
"Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy." -- Norman Vincent Peale
Have you ever met someone that just exuded confidence? That they seemed so sure of themselves and their surroundings with every step they took? Did they always seem to know exactly the right thing to say, think and do, without hesitation? They carried an air about them, that they had lived a life full of rich experiences and rewarding opportunities?
This is the charisma and attitude of the King of Wands. The King sits on his throne, attentive to all that is around him. The skies in the background are cloudless which represent his ability to think with a clear mind, and the hills are low which signify that he is able to take on, and get beyond, any obstacles in his path. On his throne you can see it is decorated with lions, which represent his courage and strength, his ability to command and protect. By his feet you see a salamander, which is connected to the element of fire. Salamanders are a form of lizards and equate with transformation, renewal, and enlightenment. Also connected to fire is the wand, which he holds in his right hand, which is sometimes associated with having a mind that thinks rationallly, orderly and is able to problem-solve. Because of this, those who are connected to this card make wonderful leaders, however not so much because of their ability to conceive and implement ideas. It is because they have seen, through the course of their experiences, how a concept goes from start to finish and they understand the intricacies of how best to reach the desired goal, which may include allocating jobs and responsibilities to others and because of the enthusiastic, magnetic charm he displays, others are more than happy and willing to help. Because of his ability to lead by example, he also has a transformational aura about him, that he easily passes along to others. It is through that connection that others find their lives and themselves forever changed.
When this King shows up in a reading and represents an event, be assured that a challenging, inspiring and dynamic adventure is on the horizon. When it represents a person or aspects of a person it may be a signal that you will be in a position to take on the mindset of this King, or to request the help from someone who mirrors his attributes.
