Today's Tarot Card: 7 of Cups

What a wonderful quote to sum up that which is the 7 of Cups as this card is all about "choices" in ones life. Sometimes we are faced with a plethora of choices and opportunities, and feel blessed that we have those kind of alternative options at our feet. Other times we are only given two choices (such as yes or no, or 'take it or leave it') and neither one is very desireable, however one must be acted upon. And sometimes, as the rock band Rush put it so eloquently in their song "Free Will", 'if you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice'.

While the suit of Cups is traditionally associated with emotions and sometimes to the Divine Feminine, the 7 of Cups offers choices that may not seem, on the surface, to be connected with the visceral aspects of yourself, however if you look a bit closer, you will see they have much to do with how you FEEL about these choices, and how which one will make you FEEL in regards to your life (spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, monetarily, etc). It is difficult to make a choice that does not have *some* sort of emotional attachment.

When this card shows up in a reading, it reminds us, first, to be thankful for the blessings in our life that bring about these choices. Secondly, it gives us a little whisper in the ear, telling us to take our time, do not make decisions rashly or out or fear or intimidation or obligation. Ultimately YOU are the one who will need to live with the consequences of your decision(s) so weigh all your options, view them from all angles, and then .... enjoy!
