Today's Tarot Card: Seven of Wands

In the Rider Waite tarot deck, the Seven of Wands depicts a man brandishing a wand against other wands. It appears that the man is defending either himself or his ground. Wands are associated with the element of fire, which represents creativity, passion, 'that which drives you', that hunger that keeps you going on the road to pursuing your goals, your dreams, your desires. When the corresponding aspects of the wands is mixed with the inventive and visionary qualities of the number 7, you get a situation where you may feel you are under attack, that you are having to oppose others to stand up for what you believe, for the work you have done and/or the progress you have made. In the card you are unable to determine where the opposition comes from so it is possible that the fight is coming from within, especially if it is due to a lack of belief in oneself or in one's abilities. This card is a reminder that you need to have more confidence in your knowledge and capabilities and stand your ground. Do not allow others to belittle the good work you have done, or make light of whatever tenets you hold close to your heart. If pertaining to job and/or career, it is possible that you are now in a position to show that you are 'up to the task' and capable of taking on additional responsibilities. If you are considering starting your own business, this card is a positive one with the caveat that you be prepared for having to do a lot of 'foot work' in the beginning.
