Today's Tarot Card: Nine of Cups

The Nine of Cups depicts a man sitting, with a look of contentment and happiness upon his face. Behind him stand 9 cups, representing his emotional status and well-being. Cups are connected to the element of water, which corresponds to all our different feelings and desires, like love, empathy, apathy, desire, happiness and so on. Nines are just one step short of completion - in this case, just this side of utter bliss. However for this man, he is comfortable and at ease with his current station in life. He finds that the Universe is providing for him as he needs, that he is not want for anything, he is grateful for his blessings, and is willing to share it with others. There is much satisfaction and pleasure in this man's life. He has worked hard to get where he is and is now at a point where he can enjoy the fruits of his labor(s). He also understand that there is a give and take in the Universe and that for him to continue receiving these blessings, he must 'pay it forward' so that others may feel enriched, too.

When the Nine of Cups comes forth in a reading, it is a very powerful positive card, bring with it the message of good things to come. It is also a reminder that, with those (possibly) unexpected bonuses, you should be ever thankful for the good fortunes in your life and that you should show the Universe how appreciative you are by being willing to share your blessings with others. If you are in a difficult position in your life this card can either signify that either 1) better times are ahead or 2) you need to adopt the mindset of the man in the card so that bad situations can turn around and become good. There is much to be said for the power of positive thinking. Be ever mindful that 'from good, comes good'.
